Calls for projects: understand, filter, don't miss the deadline

A call for projects has strict rules and a firm deadline. The useful work is reading the eligibility grid before writing a single line.

Decoding a call

Every call publishes non-negotiable criteria. If they fail, the file is ruled out unread.

  • Eligibility: country, legal status, stage, sector, theme.
  • Format: concept note then file, or direct file; page count; language.
  • Timeline: deadline, results, expected start.
  • Funding: amount, required co-financing, eligible expenses.

Handling several calls without drowning

Keep a table with an 'eligible yes/no' column and a 'deadline' column. Focus the writing effort on two or three genuinely suitable calls rather than spraying ten weak applications.

GIAN for calls for projects

The Scout finds calls whose link is still alive and scores them against your diagnostic. You start from a relevant short-list; the Grant Writer then helps produce the note or file in the right format.
